Here is the lattest and greatest. Good news is I got the mower running and the PTO going again. Bad news was it wasnt the Carb. I discovered that when I turned the key nothing would happen, a new development. So then I eliminated the brake switch, still nothing. I then got my volt meter and started to test the wires going into the PTO switch a thte connectors. Remember my original post was PTO stopped working. Well chances are if the PTO stops working the switch might be bad. That switch also ties into the relay for the seat safety switch and the brake safety switch. Anyway I got two 12v readings from the connector from both the seat and the brake. My thoughts to why it would only run for a few seconds; The voltage took a little while to activate the relay which opens the circuit and kills the mower (it acts as if the seat switch is open). So I bought a 7 dollar 12v toggle switch at Aubuchons and hooked it up. I also bypassed both safeties from the brake and seat, but I wont go into detail there. Booya, the mower fired right up. I tested the pto with the mower deck off and it worked. Put the tractor back together and finally cut some grass! Thanks to everyone that helped out.
