I have. Remove that wire, and the solenoid is the bowl nut. Get the bowl out of the way, and clean up the gas in that area. Reconnect wires to the solenoid.
Disconnect sparkplug wire. With key off, solenoid should be extended. Key on should retract the solenoid. It is also spring loaded to extend.
