This year we finally got the road dry enough to take a camper down to what we call "The Nole". The only place that is guaranteed dry all year around for about half mile. It is 9 tenths of a mile from the nearest road wich is dirt. The next closest neighbor is even farther. Unless it is a dry year like this year has been you can only get down there with a big tractor (bigger than the Z) or 4x4 four wheeler. We used a Case 850E dozer to get the camper down there.
This camper isn't anything to brag about but it is perfect for the location. It is a late 70's, 30ft Holiday Rambler. Being I only paid $100 for it, it doesn't leak , everything works, and it will never leave this spot , I am happy. The best part is even if someone knows you are there , they most likely can't get there to bother you. I towed it with my truck about 40 miles to get it to our farm from were I bought it from and was really surprised at how nice it towed. I have towed some newer campers that didn't tow as nice as this old one did.
Once we get the road good enough to have year around access with a truck we will start to build a regular camp. We are thinking around 16-20x30. I would like to have something big enough to live in if needed.
My wife thinks I am crazy, but I don't think it is going to all fun and games in this country for ever. Would be nice to have a place to go to when the time comes.
