If I could replace the seal with out taking the hydro apart I would. Like somone said its no a smal job. You dont want any dirt to get in there. So just pulling the one side would be easier and less risk of dirt.
Also you can replace the seal between the rear and the pump with out splitting the tractor on the wide and split frame tractors.
