Default 882 Diesel "refreshing"

Well I have finally had some time to start working on the 882 this weekend. I have been collecting parts over the last week or so. I have the updated starter (current one has a bad solenoid), a new alternator and voltage regulator (Old regulator no longer working) from xtrememotorworks, and parts for the glow plug upgrade. I have not got too far, mainly just torn down and ready to lift the engine so the old starter can be removed. I bought my 882 locally from a guy that was given it as payment for doing some wok for another guy. From what I can tell it has sat a long time.

I noticed that the battery tray is very rusty, and since I had just finished my electrolysis tank (thread updated as well), I figured it was the perfect time for it to take a bath.

I think the old battery was left in there a long time and melted down.

Also If you have hub caps, maybe take them off more than once every 20 years...

the wheels would of been in much better shape if not for the hub caps

Hopefully I will be able to finish it up this week or next.
