I found this the other day, but didn't post it up.
After I took the tunnel cover off the 882 I was inspecting the drive shaft joints and I happened to notice that the hydro input, rear joint, and fan will turn freely independent of the drive shaft. The fan is bolted to something that may be a fluid filled clutch to aid in starting. When I start the tractor the hydro does not turn till it fires up, then it spinning like normal. My question is that I thought that only the later diesels had a disconnect clutch, not the early 782D, 882.

The tractor works like it should, so nothing is broken as far as I can tell.
