When I tuned mine I felt some "slop" at each end of the clock, but when in the center I didn't have much. So that's where I left the adjustment of the cam follower. I have not mounted this in the tractor yet so time will tell!
My Cub guy in Ohio says that if you have less than half a turn, of the steering wheel, your in good shape
