We didn't soak it, but we used a good spray cleaner and compressed air. And the carb was not visibly gummed up or dirty,, had not been sitting with gummed up gas, etc. He is a good mechanic, has owned his own auto shop, and has maintained a fleet of golf course equip for many years, as well as built and tuned Harley engines.
We're going to try adjusting the float while the carb is still attached. Does anyone know anything about that baffle? That thing just looks like it could interfere.
