was at the local Kubota dealer yesterday. They have a recall on their gas caps. They have a box of gas caps that were replaced. Their blaming it on the ethanol, the sevice department manager gave me this big explanation of why it happened but I didn't listen. Glad you got it fixed for your mom Pat.

Is the dealer or Kubota blaming gas cap problem on ethanol? It sounds like from Pat's last post over tighting is a the major problem. Another problem is the sealing edge on the fuel tank is not smooth. Did Kubota spec the correct seal/gasket ? Did the company providing the seal/gasket shipped the one Kubota ordered ?

Just curious , why if Mom mows every week, you need to add Stabil to the fuel?

Most home owners buy more fuel they will use in a month's time. Fuel will start to go bad after 30 to 40 days. A fuel stablizer will help the fuel last up to 90 days to a year. Another thing to consider is the fuel in your small engine's fuel tank may sit more than 30 dsays. Last summer I didn't have to mow 5 to 6 weeks because the lack of rain.
