A hydro leak in the center of the tractor could jut be a seal out of the charge pump, or steering. One thing I would check is the grass build up behind the dash tower. With oil spraying and the grass flyin, Ill bet you have a mess under the dash tower.
If your going to part it, maybe save the power steering to put on another project. And the eng, well its my favorite eng. It will drop into any red tractor.
