Was the engine compartment "oily"?? I would think the only way those bushings could flatten that much is if the bushings were degraded by oil.

When I got the 1000, the compartment was dirty, but, amazingly, no oil. Therefore I think that is why my bushings are still "up".

There is oil but not to bad. It was restored umm repainted a couple of years ago. Before I had this motor rebuilt the 10hp smoked bad! It smoked so bad if I took a lap around the back yard the smoke would still be lingering there a lap later! I didn't have to worry about any bugs when I was using it.

The ISO mounts are designed to wear out owners just have to do their part and maintain their cub. I'm sure oil does effect the life span of the mounts but how much for having oil covered on the outsides of them, that would take someone smarter then me to answer that.
