4” K161 Rod

Hey guys working on a K161 I don’t have spec # here now. But it has the 4” rod length instead of the 4.25” . The number cast on rod is 4105904. I know there is something with before a certain spec number there was a small bore but I’m not seeing it in my manual. Is this in fact an earlier version in a 70 cub? I will replace rod with same part number but never ran into this. I’m assuming it was bored to 2.9375 with small 2.875 piston not available anymore. But if someone switched shrouds at some point is it a k161? This is just for my knowledge long as I replace it with same length sure it’s fine just trying to figure out what gives? Thanks Sam

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
