Which Facet electric fuel pump for a 3000 series
This may be a silly question, but would like to hear opinions or from those that may be using the pump in question.
The mechanical pump on my 3206 with a 22hp Kohler stopped doing its job. I'm going to replace it with a Facet electric pump, but I'm not sure which one to get. I've read posts that recommend the 40252 (1-1.5 PSI, 6.5 GPH). I found a really good deal on a 40177 (1-2 PSI, 7.0 GPH), so this is the one I want to buy. Another difference is the 40252 has a factory installed Packard connector, the 40177 doesn't. What is a Packard connector? Edit - I'm going to mount it near the engine, not near the tank.

The 1-2psi pump will be fine, just stay below 4psi or the needle valve and float start to let fuel over flow the bowl. The lack of suspension on garden tractors causes enough jarring that will soon have the air filter soaked with fuel. The pump will work mounted closer to the engine (I did my FEL project that way) but electric pumps do prefer to push fuel rather than draw it.
