450 blower on 680 QL

Gent's,

It's been awhile since I've posted here. I have finally gotten around to mounting my 450 blower on my 680 tractor. But I have run into a problem. The frame on the left side does not have the holes for the lift assist bracket. The parts diagram at Cub Cadet's web page clearly shows the assembly for the 680.
I tried fitting a lift assist assembly to the rock shaft but the lift rod interfers with the disk brake linkage.
I know that's two problems.
Any insight for the experts will be appreciated.
