Hi everyone,
Liked my 124 so much I bought a 127 with a blade and wheel weights. Already paid for itself when I spread 8 yards of dirt in about 2 hours. No longer need to rent a bobcat for such tasks. Needs chains though. Anyone know where to get them for 12x23x10.50 new rubber? Next question. I just bought nice PTO setup on ebay. Would like to install it on the Garden tractor (127) since I am using the 124 for mowing. What is the difference between the rear axle gears between the 124 and the 127 hydro? Can this pto: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...SA%3AUS%3A1123 be installed on the 127? |

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure a rear PTO can only be installed on a manual shift tractor, not a hydro. Just out of curiosity, you actually have some rear pto implements? I hear they are far and few between. I am sure some of the other guys that know more about the PTO's will give some more insight.

ya, the rear PTO will only work on gear driven tractors, not hydro... Starting with the 982 IH did something different with the rears to get a PTO to work, same concept on the SGTs. Also for implements, I personally think it would be a lot more work trying to get a PTO shaft driven tiller to work on a narrow frame vs. the factory belt driven from the front PTO tiller.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
