Hey Sampson here, grew up with my dad's Cub Cadet 100, learned how to drive and how to shift on that thing. Coolest tractor ever. Dad got it in 81 from an insurance salvage auction fer $25, thanks grandpa (insurance adjuster). Anyhoo, dad had it rebuilt in about 94ish or so (cant remember the year) and it ran well untill about 98 when the throwout bearing failed miserably and little sibling got it locked into 3rd gear. There it sat and we dragged it out into the field where it rested for 13 years. Then about 2 weeks ago I got the gumption (after mom bought a 124) to go drag her out of the field and onto a trailer, dad and I hauled it to the garage and preformed "project resuscitation" to breathe new life into the old girl. Amazingly not much wrong with her. Tires are good and aired right up, mower deck was seized, and all sorts of stuff, I'm gonna start a restoration thread and post pics, also updates as I finish the painting, so far we just got the mechanics going good and I brought her home so I can finish working on the details.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
