few questions about my factory lift on a 149.. down pressure? ...3pt lift pros cons
Is my factory hydrulic lift capable of supplying down pressure to an attachment? what would be involved in making it capable of applying down pressure?
I was also looking at the 3 point lift kit offered by xtrememotor works I think it was.. i know a few of the guys here use them... I was wondering what the advantages of having the cat 0 over the sleeve hitch are...

heres an example of the kit offered by xtrememotorworks.com
looks to be pretty nice quality.. Its a little steep at $450 dollars but I like the looks and idea of the 3pt vs the sleeve hitch..

There should be a section in the service manual that shows how to set down pressure.
As for the Cat 0, it gives you some options of larger equipment than you would normally get for a Sleeve hitch. Down side is the $$$$ of Cat 0 equipment. You can buy a lot more Sleeve hitch attachments for less money and still essentially be able to do the same things as you would with a Cat O. Personally I like the sleeve hitch set up for the GT's and I am actually looking at an attachment A frame for my Cat 0 lift on my 982 so I can use the sleeve hitch attachments I already own.

Yes you can apply down pressure. You need a float lockout pin i believe they call it. Remove the tunnel cover and looks at the linkage for the lift. It may already be there. The pin is removed and stored backwards when not in use. I think our technical library may have the info on how it works. The 3 point looks great, keep us posted if you get one. I know there are a few guys here that have them, hopefully they will hop in here and let you know how they work

Float lockout pin in place:
 No float lock out pin:  Float lock out pin:  The only time I use float lock out pin is when plowing with my moldboard plow. My hitch for the moldboard plow was modified to put some down pressure and still have some float built into the system. You will break the pin in the lift arm if you try to put down pressure using a front blade. It can be a pain to change the pin.
