Default original

Hey guy's, hope everyone is well on this fine Lord's day. I was wondering, i found a couple of originals for sale, they are complete and not running, but the sheetmetal is in real good shape and all there. If anyone has read my posts they will know that i am new to this and have been finding alot of cubs in my area but am not sure about price. The man wants $300 for the pair... is this a decent price? i hope so because i would like to go get them...

That seems like a great price for 2 Originals even if not running. They aren't making those things anymore, LOL. Can you get a few pics of them?

Yes that is a very good price for 2 O's. It seems like most guys that collect cubs wants or has an O.

cubby 102,

I've got one that smokes terrible, and looks like ... Well it looks really bad that I would take $550 for, it also has the correct fenders, complete with the crack in the weak spot where the lift arm hole is.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
