Here is my new plow thanks to OAK aka Todd who sent me a CL listing near my home. I got it for $50 and it only needed a little cleaning with muriatic acid and a wire brush and it was ready for paint. Now one of you farm boys will have to tell me how to use it and make the settings. I noticed the hitch is canted at a slight angle. Is that normal? Also the wheel is set to the most downward position is that ok? Once it's on my sleeve hitch will the plow rise up with the hydro? How do I set the top adjustment screw? Do I really need the coulter? I appreciate any info that you can pass along to me.

Somewhere in the tech library there should be a document that explains how to set up the plow. The first thing you need to do though is change the position of the sleeve hitch bracket so it angles up relative to the beam instead of down.

Nice plow!
I recently had a plow that had the sleeve hitch bracket adjusted like that...The guy used it on a Wheel Horse. ![]()

Your plow should look more like this when properly adjusted.

Great looking plow InspectorRudy! Your paint job looks excellent. You will want to try that out in your neighbor's front yard until you get it adjusted just right and then you should use it in your yard.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
