I found a #1 cart on my way to work and was thinking about stopping to see if the owner would sell it. I'm not sure what condition it is in yet. How many of these were made? I don't see any for sale anywhere.

I was at the big IH auction in Wakonda South Dakota last weekend and a #2 sold for over $400. I thought they were crazy and was glad I got mine for $50. A #1 is even harder to find so it should be worth more.

Where can I look at photos of cadet carts?
I've only seen a couple, and I don't know which ones they are.

Does anyone know where to find the IH decals for the front and rear of a #2 Cart. I am thinking of painting one. Also did all #2 carts have lift out tailgates or were some made with swinging tailgates?

SpringSpecial53,
I believe you can find the decals on Ebay. The tailgate lifts out. The #2 carts never had the swinging ones.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
