Hi,
I made a plow for my cub. Why? Because these are not available here in Finland and importing one used plow from US would of costed about 500 USD. And I needed it yesterday not in august ![]() ![]() And part donor(was in my friend scrap iron pile): ![]() Tero |

That looks great!!
![]() Don't be in a big rush to put the coulter disc back on. The coulter is seldom needed, and it holds the plow out of the ground. Try the plow without the coulter disc first, see how it works. If you look at the donor picture, notice how much more steel and iron there is to give weight to push the coulter into the ground. We love the pics. I hope you post some action pics. ![]() |

I hate to be a party pooper but I think that setup will give more grief than smiles.
Why? The hitch point is not off set/angled as like a Brinly moldboard plow is, so unless the sleeve hitch is bent the plow will not sit flat in the furrow. Simple fix if you can figure out the proper angle to reweld the hitch point at. Sorry I have no way to measure the poper angle. |

Terkaa, Good job and great ingenuity. I just picked up a Brinly yesterday and was able to measure the angle for you. The hitch is 14 degrees off vertical. Measured with a table saw miter gauge from the frame to hitch. Good luck turning some soil.

Hi,
My hitch is also DIY. So I can adjust it(it has few set of mounting holes) But it is good to know correct angle so I dont have to guess correct angle for plow. Tero |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
