I'm putting a 54" power angle plow on the front of my 2072 when I get it finished. Iv'e never used a garden tractor to move snow so I'm unsure how to set it up weight wise. I assume that more weight is better but where to add it is what I'm wondering. I'll add Ballast to the tires, Should I look to get some wheel weights also? Is there a place to buy new weights for the 12" wheels or do I need to hunt for old ones?

Actually, any wheel weights from any 12" Garden Tractor wheel will work. Just make sure you paint them IH yellow, white or red.

Load the tires, put wheel weights on it and get some good chains. Try Tirechain.com. Pic is the wheel weights I used to use on my 1210 with loaded tires and chains. The lead plates added about 40LBS to each wheel weight. Worked pretty good.

I've got my 23x12s filled which equals around 70lbs and on top of that between 35-80 additional pounds of wheel weights. The more weight you can get lower to the ground, the better.

I have the tires loaded with windshield washer fluid plus 90 lbs. of iron weights on each side. Seems to be about right for the 149 and 169

cool. I'm going to a couple tractor shows next week. I'll be hunting for some CI wheel weights. Are the Bar tires pretty good in the snow? My kids got a kick out of that face too.

I have a set of Black concrete filled ones that the plastic is cracked up on. I'm not sure how much they weigh.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
