Default Central New York Cubs

Hello everybody.

Great site, I'm here to learn and share. I am a proud owner of a "from junk" 149, bought in good condition 1200, 71, & 100. Between myself and my brothers (lots of co-ownership / investment) there are also 2 more 149s, 125, 129.

My 149 is a bit custom, as I love the slightly more "Red" look of the 70 / 100 era tractors.

I'll post pics of the junk pile that was turned into my #1 cub later on...

Best regards, John from Canastota NY

Welcome to OCC John. Another New Yorker just a little west of you in Cortland N.Y. Nice rehab on the 149. Sharp looking machine.

Hey, John...Dave from Buffalo. Very nice looking tractor and thrower you have there. You should be proud of your self. That thing looks mint! 72-149 brought one back to life also. After seeing these awesome 149 tractors, these are becoming one of my favorites. I might have to get one...

Default engine mount bolts

Hi- I'm a newcomer. I have a good running, hard working 149, but the engine bolts must have dropped out, and the whole engine has shifted to the left about 3/4". I have 1" coarse thread 3/8" bolts, and can only find two holes, (not 4) under oil pan area. Looking for location of mount bolts on frame/engine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
