Default Couple of problems with rebuilt 1450

Engine runs good, but seems to be running hot. Spark plug base is blue. I have good air flow across the head. Engine runs on after switch is turned off. Have very little throttle, almost no mid range. Seems to go from 700 rpms straight to 3600+ rpms. Hoods won't aline on either 1450. Had both dashes and grills off. Grills are positioned as far back as they will go.

Timing was causing the overheating problem. Still have trouble with throttle, goes from 540 rpms to 1640, then 1740, then 1800, (double readings, has a Tiny Tach). No mid range. Spring is in 3rd hole from bottom on gov lever and 2nd hole down on throttle lever.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
