Other than year and color, what are the differences in a 1210 and a 1282? Thanks, Jason

If the 1282 has leftover IH parts on it, it may have a cast iron rearend, and there may be other minute differences.
I think the later 1210s had a Magnum 12 instead of a K301, as well. |

My 1210 came with a Mag 12. It now has a 16HP Vanguard in it.

Well, the reason I am asking is my old 1210 that caught fire has been rebuilt. I am going to re-paint it. There are no decal reproduced for a 1210. I like my cubs to be slightly modified yet be functional. The thought in my head was to take 1282 decals (Black and white set from the red tractor series) and paint the tractor base/clear black. The deck, wheels, deck subframe be painted cub cadet white as they were. This would put the black/white decals on a black tractor making it look like an 82 series that Cub "could have built". I think it would be a cool looking tractor when finished. Oddly enough, although it won't be correct being black, I want the closest decals i can find to what the tracor is. 1282 should be it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
