1250 charging
On my present 1250 , I dont think the stator is charging . So when running I would be draining the battery for spark and headlights correct? I saw a cub with a larger auto battery mounted on the rear hitch with cables running to it. Good for a little extra weight . Can this be done with any 12 v or are there other things to worry about. I will fix the stator but in the mean time the extra capacity would be nice.

Here is how to check your stator. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32 If it is not working the yes everything electrical is running of you battery. I don't recommend hacking an automotive battery onto your Cub.

i had the same problem with my 1650, i changed the voltage regulator and it still wasn't charging so i checked the voltage coming from the stater and i had the proper voltage coming from there than i found out that the switch is going bad and if i touch the switch it charges.
