Im a painter and most others will tell ya to use a light color primer or sealer to paint light or bright colors.
I use a dark sealer, i think it givers the red's and yellow's and darker deeper look. If your rattle can painting it, use a light primer. That way you can see your lines on each pass. And if you get a tiger stripe, it'll be harder to see a light color over a dark sealer.
