purox torch
I picked up this old torch set. It's a Purox type W-200.
I don't know anything about this brand (not up on any of them actually) I know how to safely use a torch, I've done it years ago, and my buddy can help me get used to using it. But I don't have the hoses for it, long gone, and don't know what hoses were with it! So I guess my question is, are any of you familiar with this older torch, what size hose? And what hose should I get? There will only be oxygen, acetylene used, no propane. I got the two regulators, cutting torch and a heating tip as well as two welding tips. I mainly wanted one for heating things to either loosen or bend, putting metal in the stove and getting to the bench and into the vice is a bear! Also checked for manuals for this torch and can't find anything. I know the ESAB company owns the Purox name. Not wanting to order something wrong, any help would be great. Thanks

Todd, I checked today and any 1/4 inch hose will work. Just find a dealer and they will have everything you need.

That looks like a torch set made by "Uniweld". See: www.uniweld.com
I use something like that in my HVAC/R trade.

I would take the torch to your local welding supply and have them check it out to make sure it’s safe. They will also be able to set you up with whatever you need to make it work. This is a link for AirGas

Thanks guys. I checked out airgas website, and I have two of them within 35 miles from me, so I think I'll just wheeler over to one of them and have everything checked out.

I have an old Purox torch set. I got it used at an auction 30+ years ago, it was probably (or at least looked like it was) 30+ years old when I got it. I had kind of a hard time finding a propane tip for the cutting torch at the time. It has always worked great and I've never had any kind of problem with it.
I hope you have good luck with yours!

Well I took the torch into Airgas and had everything checked out. they had the hose I needed and one gauge for the oxygen regulator.
Picked up two tanks, eye protection and igniter. And after they went over the regulators, I've got myself a torch. Stopped at Home Depot and picked up a hand truck and built me a mobil torch hauler out of it. Still haven't tried it out yet, but I know there's no leaks. Went over all the connections with dish soap and water in a spray bottle. Good to go, one of these days
