Default New to forum ne indiana

Hello:

I'm Rick from NE Indiana, been a CC fan just about my whole life. I'm currently restoring (or whatever anyone wants to call it) my Grandads 124, I was standing in his drive the day he brought it home. I've had numerous 102's and loved each one differently,,like a dummy I was hard up for money bout 5 years ago and sold 4 for less money than I'm gonna say,,so now I've located and started to bring my Grampa's Cub back to life. My family don't know I've got it, They knew how Grampa loved his cub and my plan is to suprise them all at Thanksgiving. I'm down to painting motor and installing it so should be on track. I will have pics when finished.

Welcome fellow Hoosier. I've got a 100 that my dad bought in the early '80s that I'm fixing up. Keep 'em in the family.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
