Ags 2160 info
I just received a CC AGS 2160 model # 135-266-100 and date code D215G3. The PO told me the motor was locked up, but as I was disassembling it I discovered that it was the PTO that had locked up. What I need to know is what fluid I can use in the trans, and how to decipher the date code.

I think you are supposed to use Cub Cadet hydro drive fluid in the 2160 check in your manual or ask the Cub dealer. Keep in mind that a 2160 is a six speed and not a hydro. It has a forward and a reverse set of clutch packs that run in a separate case. So not only should you change the oil for the gear case but you also should change the oil in the clutch case. When running pick a gear speed for the job at hand and hold the pedal all the way down. Do not slip the clutch or you will toast the clutch packs.
