Default Valve Opinions

I have a k161 for CCO that I recently purchased. The exhaust valve seems to have lost it's head.

My main question is -- What are your opinions of genuine kohler valves (@ about $30 each) vs the Steins (both for $30)?

What I think are the Steins valves

It probably won't be my main tractor. I'm kinda leaning towards the Steins just to get the motor going unless I can find an old stock Kohler part, but what are your thoughts?

If they are the same price more mm or less I'd go with the kohler parts for sure. But I'm sure if installed correctly the steins would be fine. I'm sure somebody that has used them before will chime in

Considering that you can buy Manley valves for a SB Chevy for about $16.25 ea. from Summit racing Id say Kohler is proud of their valves

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
