K241 Clutch Removal
  I know this is somewhere on this web-site, but I can't find it. Sorry for those of you who always see this question. I need to remove the pto clutch from my K241 out of my 100 and I can't figure out the next step. I have used a wheel puller to push the pin in on the middle of the clutch to make it rotate to get the 4 set screws out (two pointed set ends, two just flat ended) I also removed the other two larger set screws further back on the clutch closer to the engine block. So do I take a larger wheel puller and hook it on behind (engine block side) of the large v-belt pully that runs to the generator and pull the entire assembly off? Is there anyway of damaging the button in the center of the clutch by applying too much pulling force off it? I have looked through the Kohler service manual and I can't see where it shows it? It shows how to remove the fly wheel, but not a pto clutch. Guessing because this is an option for Cub Cadet and not covered by Kohler even though its on their engine - right? Appreciate any help on this matter.

Ok, so I have to look for more set screws - there is 8 total to be removed? Then what, will it slide off or do I need to put a wheel puller on it?

there are three holes.....each one has two set screws.
remove the 6 screws then take a block of wood and a hammer and drive the pto clutch off the pto bearing, it might take some hard blows to get it free, keep turning the crank as you tap the pto off so it comes off evenly.

Thanks DX, that is what I am looking for! Now to get the pully off behind it, take the wheel puller to remove it? I need to get to the adjustment bracket for the generator, mine is cracked at the end, so want to replace it That is why I am going through this removal procedure. Anything I should be looking for when I remove the clutch? Broken springs, bearing in good condition, what else? I guess clutch plate in good/fair condition. Anyone know how thick the plate should be?
Lincolnmania, When you and others said there was 6 screws, until I see the video, I didn't know the set screws were stacked on top of one another in the same holes. I figured when people told me there was two screws per hole, you had to move it slightly to get to the 2nd screw.
