Default New member from Pensacola

Hello All,
So here I am a new member of your forum.
Grew up in southwestern Michigan and lived in Canada a couple of years before my current local.
I have 40+ years of grass mowing experience while my butt was in a Cub Cadet everytime.
But only three of them so far.

That is me in the back and my sister and brother, most likely 1968 or 1969.
Dad bought it with deck and snow thrower. I did the mowing and he did the throwing. The only other implements were a homemade underbelly scraper blade for the gravel driveway. And a homemade grapevine trimmings collector pole-on-rope thingy.
When I moved into my own place I bought a 127 with a 48" deck and the stock extra wide tires in front and back. That one ended up going with me to Canada along with a snow thrower. That one stayed in Canada. Then I moved to Pensacola, I ended up buying another 127 w/42" deck off ebay out of WV.
I was able to drive it inside a first generation Dodge minivan with the deck on when I retrieved it twelve years ago.
My winter project for this year is to restore it before mowing season starts again in April.
The picture is of the first one Dad bought for the newly constructed homestead in I think 1969. That is me in the back and my sister and brother.
Now-a-days you can not see anything but towering white pine trees that Dad and I planted behind that flag pole back in 1970 or so.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
