Without going into a lengthy explanation, I am getting closer to taking the step to liquidate my Cub Cadet collection. I have hemmed and hawed about this for some time and just need to come to grips with the fact that I have too many items with which to deal. I'm out of space and patience. Thinking that I might keep the 1200. Just not positive about anything at this point.
My question is... are there any serious Cub people out there that would consider buying the whole lot at once? I'm talking parts and everything, and it's far more than a trailer load. I realize that I would have to offer the package at a discounted rate, but I'm not going to give it all away. I have a realistic number in mind. However, that number is just based on things that I can put my eyes on. The alternative is selling everything piece by piece. It's very difficult to make time for that, and I'd still probably wind up with lots of things that I don't want/need. I'd really like to do an all or nothing deal... Kinda like ripping off a Band-Aid. |

I am not in the market to make the kind of transaction you are considering, but I would think you would have to post pictures or a description at the very least of what you have (complete tractors, rough parts list, etc) so a potential buyer could even size up what they would consider buying.

Definately a list is needed!
Certainly interested parties out there - maybe even splitting up into lots??

I know a guy who would possibly be interested in the whole lot, but he runs a relay from my location and then sells them to Joe's Outdoor Power Equipment who comes down from Michigan. Joe just parts them out on Ebay and I don't want to see them meet that fate. They deserve to go to a good home or to good homes....not some scrapper.

Not in the market for that much stuff myself (I'd be killed if I buy anything else right now) but there might be either a serious collector/restorer or a dealer out there that might be interested in all of it. Maybe they'd take just the parts and not the complete tractors. Someone suggested breaking it into lots if no one wants it all, like engine parts, body panels, frames, or whatever grouping makes sense, that might be a good strategy too. Another suggestion is to piece it out until you get down to a certain level then put the rest out there in one or two large lots. Last resort in my mind would be an auction, on your own if there is enough, or consign to a farm auction local to you. Auctions can have a hefty fee to sell that way, but it's quick.
Good luck with whatever you decide and keep up posted!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
