Frist time pushing snow around with a 1650/1450. With the blade at an angle and some snow buildup in front, the front tires slide and the whole things just veers sideways.
Maybe a little weight on the front would help? The tires are a choice between turf, or ribs (the ribs are mostly worn). |

Went to front ags. Couldn't find tri ribs I could afford. The ags are very effictive in the snow.

Did you use the same rims, or were they more narrow?

I don't have a blade for my CC, I use a Honda Fourtrax Rancher with a blade.
What I have found is that when the blade is angled, only take a little over 1/2 the blade width "bite". When I get to about 2/3 blade width, the Rancher will slide sideways. Hope this helps Cubby guy |

I don't do too much with a blade, if I clear snow it's with the QA-42 on the 125. ( my wife and I both have 4WD vehicles )
I have two 125s, one with wide fronts ( manual lift ) and the other has hydraulic lift and skinny tires. Just the few times I've cleared snow this year, the skinny tires seem to get a much better bite. ![]() |

I have seen chains for the front tires but I don't remember who sells them.

These do great plowing snow. They have good grip and don't slide sideways with the blade angled. 16/6.5/8 Carlisle Field Trax. They are discontinued in this size though.

I used the original 105 rims with 16-6.50x8 ags ,but I bet the skinnier wheels with deep tri-ribs would steer better in snow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
