Get it dried off and cleaned up and then post some good pictures we don't have to use X-Ray vision to look at. I'll bet you will find something broken, bent or missing.

This time of year it's not of fun job, I did a replacement gear on mine last season, had the same issue and found a spacer/washer had been missing allowing the assembly to shift over. I suggest pulling it apart and make sure all the drift pins are intact and all your spacers are in place, you can't tell anything from your pics.

Looks like the chain has been jumping around quite a bit to hog that hole out like that. Could be that the bearing on that end of the auger is shot and moved back some. Is it real noisy when operating?

I still don't see what the problem is......

Melt the ice off that thing with a torch or garden hose or something.

The problem may literally be all the ice.

The auger collar bearings were loose last year and I got them reset now the shaft does not move. I guess I just don't know really what to look for to see if I am missing something I just know the sprocket should be it the center and it is not

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
