Yep, the 86 used a sleeve hitch. You can hook a plow to it, along with other implements.

Any hitch from a wide frame or Quiet Line Cub Cadet will work.
Wide Frame models are 86-108-109-128-129-149-169. Quiet Line models are 800-1000-1200-1250-1450-1650. |

All right Guys!! Sleeve Hitches and 3-point lifts are not the same thing and some of you know it. Please use the correct terminology. How else are the new guys going to learn??
1) A sleeve Hitch is found on the tongue of a plow or other implement! 2) A Sleeve Hitch Adaptor allows you to hook that implement with a Sleeve Hitch to a Cub Cadet. 3) An IH 3-point lift will allow you to lift that plow (or other implement) for transport. Myron B CCSupplyRoom |

Dale don't forget that the later Quietline hitches used frankenstein bolts and not rod that the 86 uses.

Unless you do like I did and welded the spacers into the frame holes so I could use the same setup as older frames. It's kinda weird,as my 1200 sisn't have the spacers but the other 1200 we parted had a set. They were only a couple months apart too...

AJG: Please read my post above!. Those "frankenstein" bolts are used on the lift arm of the 3-point lift and have nothing to do with any hitch...Puhleeze!!...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
