Default I picked up an CCO

Hello everyone,
I am fairly new on here but a long time cub cadet fan. I have had my 1282 going on 7 years now and just picked an O this weekend. I didn't take any pictures yet but will soon. The engine tin has a k241 part number and the air cleaner looks alot like the one on my 1282. No attachments with it and it doesn't have the correct seat pan. It is a little rough but not that bad of shape. I still have to verify the s/n but it is suppose to a 63. As me and my boys start working on it I am sure we will have lots of questions.
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Congratulations on your O!!! Looking forward to your pics. Make sure you check out other parts of the forum--particularly the restoration tips section. It should make a real fun project for you and your boys to wrench on.

Welcome to OCC.

One of the first things you will learn here is: NO PICTURES... IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!

Congratulations on your Original.

Welcome!

O's are really nice to cut your teeth on when it comes to fixing them up. Very simple compared to later ones like the QLs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
