Default Dryer Fire
This is way off CC, but I want to remind everyone to check their dryer venting.

I just had my dryer, ALMOST, catch on fire. Fortunately, the dryer safeties kept us safe. We smelled something burning, opened the dryer, and out rolled smoke/steam. Thank God we were home and caught it. I found out the vent pipe from the PO was way too long and kinked. It packed the inside of the dryer full of lint. I probably dug out a 5 gallon bucket worth of lint.

New policy, yearly, remove dryer to driveway, and go nuts with the air hose.

I had to replace the high limit safety thermostat $27 on amazon. Local parts store wanted almost $60.

As a another suggestion.....

The vent pipe should be "rigid" galvanized or aluminum. This flex crap is highly restrictive.

I have mine out and apart as we speak. Quite impressive what can build up.
Another option is a brush kit I bought a few years ago that hooks to the drill and the shop vac adapts to the outlet. Just run the drill/brush up it with the shop vac on... works pretty well all the way back to the dryer and no need to disassemble.
