I was told that it came off a table saw. I see reminence of saw dust. It still works ,so i will just keep it in my collection as something to talk about.

JeffK.. in the photo, I can see the word International but nowhere do I see the word Harvester or the IHC logo. The term International was copyrighted for agricultural and transportation applications manufactured by IH. That did not apply to table saws, so your "Internatinal" electric motor likely has nothing to do with IH (who didn't make electric motors) as all their generators and motor generators. etc., were made by Delco-Remy IIRC.

Under Internatinal it says Internatinal Harvester Co. Chicago U.S.A.

[edit] Home appliances
Although best known for farm equipment, IH produced home appliances for farmers and non-farmers alike. This included refrigeration equipment such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and freezers. Like many automobile and truck makers did during this period, (Ford had Philco, Chrysler had Airtemp, General Motors had Frigidaire, Nash-Kelvinator Corporation (and then American Motors) had Kelvinator, Studebaker had the Franklin Appliance Company, White, IHC had a refrigeration division of its own. Originally, the appliance division had been developed to manufacture commercial-grade items to farmers, most of whom had just received electricity by way of the many electrification projects in the United States before and after World War II. Among the offerings were milk coolers and walk-in freezers for produce and meat. Later on, IH courted the farmer's wife with kitchen refrigerators available in the latest designer styles. The IH spokeswoman for these products was Irma Harding, a factory trademark. These products were introduced in 1947 and sold for less than ten years. The refrigeration division was sold to Whirlpool Corporation in 1955. Since the time of production was short, these appliances are quite rare today.[7][12] [edit] See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interna...en_years_of_IH ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scott |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
