782 Dilemma
I have a 782 dilemma I need some advice and assistance on. My original 782, which is in very nice shape all the way around, is an ’83 model. It has a series 1 engine, very few hard hours, standard hyd lift, and has had a luxury life of being a joy ride machine, more or less, allowing me quality time with my little kids.
The other 782 I recently acquired is a Nov. ’80 built model with my guess is 1300+ hrs on the machine. It does, however, have a series 2 engine with filter with a ’95 build date code, so it certainly has been replaced. I have no idea the hours on the engine though. It also has front hydraulics and rear hitch. This machine is in rough shape; no engine tins with only the fenders for sheet metal, nothing else. There are a lot of parts to be acquired to make it a complete unit. My goal is to add the front hydraulics and rear hitch to the newer unit (joy ride). I am not worried about the engine, to be honest, as I am comfortable with the series 1 considering what it is used for and the life it has had. With already having rear wheel weights, I would like to acquire a front blade/plow for snow and possibly a set of Tru Powers. Moving snow is the max amount of work I am thinking of right now. Why?...time or lack thereof raising a family and working a lot out of town. Now knowing we are looking at an IH built unit versus a CCC built unit, and believing the transmission housings are different, I have some questions. #1 – Is this a simple swap (hitch and front hyd) from one unit to the other? I know the valve will have to be switched. #2 – Is it possible to save the single valve to somehow develop a rear hyd system? If I can make this happen, I would part with the old chassis. Any input, advice, or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

All are simple swaps. Hydraulics will be a pain tho but its doable. Extreme motor works makes a split kit to split the front hydraulics to rear hydraulics. I just installed a kit on my 782 and its sweet
