Does anyone have a rear lift on a 1050? I am considering trying to find one that will fit my 1050. Any ideas on what to look for? I'm thinking one for the 582/682 is similar and my be what I need. Any advice is welcome!

You can put a category 0 3 point on it. I think you can also put a sleeve hitch on it, but because you have the aluminum rear end you will need to get the lower bracket from http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/
When you go to the site, hit cub cadet parts. Then select sleeve hitches. For the aluminum rear I would get one with "ears" like this one. This is the cheapest option with ears. ![]() You can probably piece together a sleeve hitch setup for under $250. A category 0 3 point will run you around $500 |

Hey Brent.....
For some reason I have found that you can't link to an exact page on extrem's website. I don't know why. Your link doesn't take you where you need to be. EDIT: Nevermind. You fixed it. Brent is correct on all of his info!

Thanks for the info. My budget is geared more towards the sleeve hitch set up, can't quite swing paying more than twice what I paid for the tractor for a 3 point hitch. My question in the original post though is more for the rockshaft and lift bar. What other models can I get one off of that will fit the 1050?

Are you referring to the rockshaft that lifts the deck or the rear cast piece for the sleeve hitch? Any wide frame top cast piece should work for the lift. The lift bar I think you are right about a 582/682. But i'm not positive. On xtreme's website this may be the bar you need. Part # CC-03-033. It's under sleeve hitch as well. I would probably call him to make sure it IS what you need. J-Mech will be along at some point i'm sure and have 100% correct info for you.

Sorry, I may have used the wrong terminology for the part, I saw some on ebay that referred to them as a rockshaft but whatever they are officially called, it's the part that the lift pin goes in and actually lifts the implement. The actual cast piece does look pretty much the same for all of the wide frames with only the lift bars being different. With that said, none of the lift bars that I see are listed to fit the 1050 and I can't find any parts manuals that show the lift mechanism for a 1050...assuming they actually offered one. There must be something out there that will work, right?

The sleeve hitch was never offered on a machine that had the aluminum rear end. So when MTD bought out IH, and eventually did away with the cast iron rear end, the sleeve hitch went with it. Looking at the machines, I would think the lift bar from a 582/682 would work, since they both had a manual lift.

Thanks! That's the info that I was looking for. Now that I know that the actual parts for a 1050 are non existant, I can focus on finding parts that will work or can be made to work. Thanks for the help!

Here is a good website to look up parts for your, or any machine. You can see what options were offered for a particular tractor. As you can see in this link, the sleeve hitch was not offered for you tractor. The cat 0 3 point was.
http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...00+-+799%2C999 Now that I think about it I don't think the lift arm is different between tractors that had the hydro lift and ones that had manual lift. A wide frame lift will fit either. Say a 149 and a 108. I THINK you can just get a wide frame lift set up, and then get the lower bracket from extreme and you will be good to go. |

Brent is still correct with his info!! ***EDIT: I missed his last message, see below.***
No, the 1050 never was offered with a sleeve hitch. Now, listen: It is the same chassis as the '82 series. All the parts, with the exception of the lower bracket, are the same. So, just find parts from that series and your golden! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
