Default New to me 2182 craigslist find

Well my 1450 was going to get a full resto.....until I Found a local 2182 on Craigslist.

Slapped the trailer on the truck and headed out on a journey to go get it minutes after I talked to the owner on the phone.

599 hours, 60" deck (Haban), Plastics are all there, and so far the only crack I found is around the muffler area, typical faded paint, overall in great shape. Came from the orig owners son who didn't want/need it (has a barn full of big boy tractors)

Paid $1,000 for it, I feel like that was a pretty good deal. Waiting for my pics to upload and I will add them sometime today here to the thread.

So, looking at SGT Braces as preventative, and will be changing all the fluids/filters. anything else specifically I should do or look into?

BTW that little Kubota sounds soooooo cool!

Congrats on the 2182, probably one of the best Cubs ever built. Here is some light reading for you.

Default cub

Good deal, i saw that add. There's a $1000 tractor that won't self destruct in 3 years. I/ve got a 3cly geo that sounds a little funky. Mike

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
