Default 104 ideas?

Was wondering if anyone has put wider tires and wheels on these old cubs? I have a nice pair of 23-12.5x12 from an old chraftsman I am thinking about seeing if the lug pattern is the same. They are also turf tires but there is more room for weight and the original tires are really cracked. Also i have a couple pairs of hubs off the old chraftsman i am thinking i could build a nice solid pair of spacers to put duals on if ever I wanted to. Any thoughts? If not i am gonna wait til kids get back to school and the old wallet to be reserected from the dead and get some nice aggs for it.

On a side note- I got lights on her and all wired up.

Depends on your application: Mowing, wider tires wouldn't be bad to give you more "flotation". If you're looking for traction and doing a lot of pulling/pushing, then I'd save up and go with ag's. With the limited weight of our Cubs, more tire isn't always better.

I put 23x12x12 AGs on my 125. Had to put spacers behind so they didn't rub the fenders. Put 150 lbs of weight on the back and plowed snow with it without chains. Worked great for me. Here's a pic (there is a set of chains in the box).

Thanks guys, think i am gonna give it a try! Also gonna make brackets between wheels so i can add duals. If nothing else i think it will look cool!

Finally got my wider wheels and tires on the 104. Instead of 12.5 I went with 10.5. There isnt much room between chains and fenders but its plenty, and i wouldn't have thought just a couple inches more on ground would have made that much diference but it is definatly noticable.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
