451 on a 1772? Anyone ever make it work?

I know the correct Snow Blower for the 1772 is the 450, I know the 451 is for a machine with a 6" PTO pulley.

My question is, has anyone ever increased the pulley size on the 451, to offset the smaller diameter PTO (4.625"?) pulley?

ILIKEREDCUBS posted a link to a 451 for 2 hundy, I would like to have a 2 stage for the 1772.

But??????

I think you have the pulley swap size backwards. You would need to decrease the pulley size on the 451 blower. the way you are talking about would slow the blower speed. Just my 2 cents but if I was going to try to use a 451 on a 1772 I would change the PTO to the later style like on a 1782

Okay, you're right. I had it backwards.

I wonder if I did swap to the later style PTO, if the mower deck could handle that.

I would prefer to not be swapping PTOs each spring and fall.

Larger PTO pulley, would spin the deck faster, correct?

Hmmmmm.

Should probably just keep my eye out for a 450.

I saw that, I sent them a text @ 6:00am. No response, later I saw the ad was taken down.

Oh well, something will turn up. I can run the H42. But it would be nice to have a 2 stage.

I need to get my rear end braces and adapters for the CV drive shaft, before I send money on a implement,.

The Allison trans in my truck has been giving me fits the last few days. I may need to spend some big money there.
