Default Serial Number Plate
How or can you remove the serial # plate off a Kohler K-161? When I got my first O, it was and still is painted yellow. Seems the previous owner decided it was not important. I want to remove it and put it back like it should be. Any ideas? It looks like it is attached by rivets, but not sure.

I have used this site for Kohler decals and engine plates. Satisfied with their work.

Drill the rivets to remove them.

So it is rivets. I guess I will try to clean it on the tractor as I have no idea how to remove or install rivets.

Obviously I can't speak to ALL 7 hp Kohler engines, but at least some of those "rivets" are more like "push buttons" they snap in and out.

Push on the back side and they should come out (might be kinda hard if they're painted in).

Cleaning paint off the tag without taking the original paint off too may prove to be another challenge.

I think you are may be right about them snapping out? I was looking at one I have for another engine that I have not put back together yet, and they do look like you can push them out from the other side.
