Help installing the lift bar on my 1410
Hi
I picked up a rear lift lever that installed right on the back of my 1410. I will of course have to do some cutting on the plate since it wasn't set up for the lever. But for the life of me I cannot see just how the lift bar will attach up front. I guess I need to pick up a "WF Lift Bar Attachment Block" That Xtreme sells. But am not sure how it works to attach the lift bar to the front. As of right now, it has the upside down U shaped arm in the front that rotates and pushes against another arm that forces up the deck. I would like to get the lift bar from the back attached without removing any of this. Problem is I haven't been able to find any explicit details showing how the lift bar is installed. I notice the attachment block has two small threaded holes in it. Can anyone explain all this? Thanks.

Lol. J-Mech. I was just coming back to post that same exact photo because that arm look identical to what's in mine. Yes. There is a pin that is running through just like in that photo. Problem is. The lift arm I have has a larger hole. So the pin easily slips right through it. I tried using a washer but it causes the pin to get caught up on the frame hole. So there is barely any space in there.
I am guessing the lift bar I have was meant for a different model. Seems like I could put a sleeve inside that hole to reduce it down. I almost forgot to mention. Adding that bar in there would require a longer pin. Maybe 1/2" longer? Any idea where one could find one of those? And last but not least. The height indicator bracket has two bolts in the frame holding it. So the lift bar being so close to the frame want to get blocked by them. Seems odd considering this should be simple.

Alright... What exactly are you installing? "Rear lift" isn't really an expatiation. Is it a Cat 0 3pt? Or is it a sleeve hitch? What model did it come off of? I just noticed that you said the model you are working on is a 1410. No such model exists.... so what do you really have? Too many questions to go any further.

Sorry about that. Its a 1440. Not 1410. My eyes aren't that great.
I think I can get the lift bar to work fine using a spacer like the one at the rear and a 3" clevis pin (instead of 2 1/2"). This is just to get the lift working. Like in this photo.  Also. I am trying to get a sleeve hitch installed. Another CC owner modified his plate, which is VERY similar to mine. Although I would like to avoid all the cutting just to get attached to the frame. But I will if need be.  I was wondering if it would work to just get one of those Xtreme sleeve hitch brackets that would hook up this way instead, getting rid of the plate. And would it be strong enough to raise a plow safely?

did you try using the spring assist pin that was on it originally?

Yes. It has manual lift. And I had to remove the assist spring because it prevented me from installing the lift bar. The assist spring hung off the 2 1/2" clevis pin that raises the deck. So I removed the spring and there was "some" space for the lift bar. But not enough. The pin runs too short to stick out for the cotter pin. So that is why I am thinking of just getting a 3" clevis.

Ok. If you have a lift bar (the long one that runs to the rear) from an '82 series hydro, then it should have the right size holes in it. Post a pic of the bar so we can make sure you have the right one. All you should need is a longer pin. Unless you have a lift bar for another machine.
 On the rear plate: Yes, order a lower hitch plate from xtreme. Make sure you get one with the ears on it that bolts to the axle tube. Remove your rear cover plate and toss it on a shelf. If you want a spring assist, you will likely need one for a wide frame. Same as an '82 series. May be able to make some brackets and move the existing one to the left side.... (Sorry, no pics. After taking some, and looking through the parts books, no need for them.)
