I've been a small and big engine hobbiest since I was a teen. Now 73. Just bought a 1250 and a 1650 for $100. I KNOW RIGHT? Both built in Dec of 1974. Who knew? Got a front blade and a 50" mower. Need tires. I'm glad the gas tanks are plastic. Even the seats are good. We have two classic Mustangs. 1966 and our original 69 Mach 1. Also have 3 Farmall tractors. 2 cubs. A 49 and a 50. Also a Farmall 100. Got two Ford Flathead motors. One is a display, running on a trailer that I take to car shows, engine shows. Ham operator
KX4B. Glad to join the group. I'll be posting pics as soon as I can figure out how. |

I am located 10 miles north of the city limits of Memphis. (Home of the King of Rock and Roll). The term gutbucket comes from a one string bass I played in 3 Bluegrass Bands. Member of IH Club, Mid-South Flywheelers, Memphis Area Mustangs, Mid-South Maniacs (a club for Mini Coopers)...I'm a joiner haha.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
