Default New to me GT2544

bought a 2544 for $100 with 400hrs to nab the engine to repower something else. is there anything else on this tractor worth any value as far parting the rest of it out? or worth taking it apart to do so?

also it has the nice seat with armrest. can i bolt this seat to my 3235? (only asking on here cause i just thought of doing that and im not home to see if it will bolt up?) seat on my 3235 is in shambles

thanks in advance

The 2544 is a pretty decent machine, why are you parting it out? How about some pics.

it is a nice mower but i have a 3235 that im putting money into. i will get some pics soon.

im the same person that posted this few weeks ago and i was still hunting a repower for my walker and this looks like a good candidate.

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=46956

the 3235 i bought ended up running/driving good. i bought it not running and turned out the fuel pump had a peice of trash stuck underneath one of the rubber umbrella valves not letting it create vacuum. so i decided to keep it since it has the goods.

the 3184 i gave 400 for i bought not pulling in forward or reverse. it was a stripped hub. so $20 fix and i cleaned up and sold for $1500. lol

i could easily get used to flipping these things. esp since i havent built my pole barn yet to store a collection

You may want to consider selling the 2544.

funny i buy it for 100 just for the engine with 400hrs, yet every used kohler command i find people want nothing less than 650 just for the engine.

How bad is the engine in the Walker? Could you swap it into the Cub and send the Cub down the road?

thought about that but its burning good bit of oil. one cylinder gums the plug. been having to swap plugs from each cyl every other grass cut.

walker mower has a 25 horse. i dont know if the 2544's came with a 25 or if someone buying it would want it knowing that id swapped them out.

but it runs and actually doesnt oil smoke that bad

hr meter broke on walker but it wouldnt surprise me if it had 3000 hrs. dang kohler wont give up haha

2544 is kinda nice tho. no power steering but it has the bagger and all. im going to clean it up this weekend real good and go from there

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
