When I got my 1864 the seat tracks were stuck. I took them apart and there was a lot of rust and all the rollers were pitted really bad. I ended up cutting thick wall spacers to replace the rollers and does work but not the best. I was wondering what you guys have done to try and get it back to new again.

After I blasted the tracks for my 1782, I made new rollers out of round bar. They have to be the same diameter as the original rollers in order to roll instead of the track dragging. If they are too short, they will turn sideways in the track and if you don't put the large chamfer on them, they will bind on the bend radius where the track was formed.
If you have a pair of calipers, you can measure them on the highest spots you can find to figure out the size. I want to say they ended up being an even fractional size. The tubing you used probably has a seam that doesn't let it roll the smoothest either.

I just took them apart again and there's no way of them turning sideways. There about 1/2 in wide by 5/8 outside diameter and the two track halves don't appear to be dragging. There thick wall spacers so there is no seem. I'll try to get some pics.

When I got mine the po had snapped the adjustment handle off. I sourced another pair from an auction site that were in bolt on condition for $35.

I found one of the rollers on my 2284 down in the greasy dirt mess over the hydro. Took me a while to figure out what is was. Was going to search newer tractors to see if there were other tracks that would work. Mine keeps puking out the white plastic guide material. I saw a thread on another cub website where a guy did a detailed thread making new rollers and rehabing the sliders.

swacor: A few years ago I bought the seat unit just above the sliders off a 1864 from Chris Westfall. Maybe he still has the slider units in inventory, Cub Classics, good shop to deal with.

Well crap. Looks like you'll need to find a used set. Try Patton, Cub Classics, or Flea Bay

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
